In this work, artists Vivian Qiu and Alex Danay have collaborated to build a multi-coloured, nest-like cocoon as a space of making, play and rest for children. This work is intended to promote creativity, safety, and happiness through mindfulness - making.

With thanks to Anne Brosnan for sourcing fabrics.

“Within my own artistic practice, I strive to incorporate mindfulness wherever I can. The Sensorium and Hiromi’s weelam create opportunities for mindful moments, which are important to find each day. I hope visitors will share a similar experience as I had while working on this piece”
— Alex Danay
“The world needs more love and kindness towards ourselves and others. The slow making and healing process of Hiromi Tango’s installation makes me listen to my body more, rather than my head. Our body knows what to do naturally, and our head judges.”
— Vivian Qiu

Hiromi Hotel is an ongoing project that uses community-arts and installation practices to build nurturing intimate spaces for healing that are open to the public. See Hiromi Hotel for more information.
